3. Seasons for Growth

This is a change, loss and grief education program that uses the idea of ‘seasons’ to understand the experience of grief. It can help you build skills and knowledge to strengthen your social and emotional wellbeing after significant loss by:

    • exploring the impact of change and loss
    • learning about effective ways to respond and adapt.

Participants learn that they are not alone in their experience of change, loss and grief. The program can help you build your communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills in a safe and supportive peer-group learning environment.

Who is it for?

Specific programs are available for children (6 to 12 years), parents and adults experiencing grief and loss.

How does it work?

Seasons for Growth is offered in three different ways:

Children’s program:

For children aged 6 to 12 years who have experienced significant change or loss in their lives. It offers a safe learning environment for children to give voice to their experiences, understand and befriend their feelings, learn skills that help them adapt, develop friendships, and realise they are not alone.

The program runs during school terms at schools. Contact us to find out dates.

Parent program:

The program helps parents develop the knowledge and skills to support children and young people through family change and loss.

We can help you with concerns around important questions such as:

    • how do I talk with my child about what’s happened?
    • what kind of reaction might I expect from my child?
    • what can I do to support my child?
    • does it matter if my child sees me upset?
    • how will I know what my child wants or needs?

Facilitated by a trained Seasons for Growth companion, the program offers emotional space and a non-judgemental environment for parents to share, discuss and learn ideas and strategies to support their children.

There are two separate components:

    • Supporting children following separation and divorce (1 x 4-hour or 2 x 2-hour sessions)
    • Supporting children following the death of someone they love (1 x 2-hour session).

The program runs during school terms for parents who have their children in the Seasons for Growth children’s program. Contact us to find out dates.

Adult program:

The program helps adults build resilience and improve their social and emotional wellbeing as they adapt to change, loss and grief in their lives. It includes adult learning principles and incorporates a wide range of life experiences.

There are two separate components:

    • Understanding change, loss and grief (1 x 3-hour seminar session)
    • Exploring the seasons of grief (8 hours in total – 4 x 2-hour small group workshop sessions).

Integreat Queensland would like to invite women to the SisterLife Circle, an intentional circle to support women with healing, transformation, and celebration.

SisterLife Circle is a safe and supportive environment for women to meet, share and connect with each other and share their thoughts and feelings.

Our Sisterlife Circle is a safe space to share and heal, as we believe to call another woman a sister is to say, “I trust you”, “I have your back”, “Your feelings are valid”, and “I believe in you.”

Funded by the Australian Government, our goal is to create a deep, authentic connection amongst women to participate in topical discussions where everyone has the opportunity to discuss a challenge they may be having or a success we can all celebrate.
