1. Let’s Talk – conversational English
What is it?
Classes to learn conversational English skills, which can then open up other opportunities for work, volunteering and socialising.
The classes are held in an informal setting to encourage connection and confidence in communicating. We can help you:
- learn basic vocabulary and strategies in conversation
- improve your communication and fluency
- develop formal and informal conversational skills.
The class is led by volunteers who have experience teaching people whose second language is English. Participants guide what they want to learn, with classes including work in both small groups and pairs.
Who is it for?
Adults who wish to connect and develop confidence in speaking English in the community.
When does it run?
- Gladstone: For 8 weeks during the school term on Thursdays @1-2.30pm
- Central Queensland (Online): Currently not running. Please let us know if you are interested in joining the online classes.

2. Let’s Talk – workplace English
English language skills to help get a job and communicate well at work.
What is it?
Classes to help adults improve their English language skills to assist them in finding a job and being in the workplace. Topics include exploring interests in jobs, applying for jobs, interview skills, and communicating at work.
The program is delivered by a teacher with lived experience as a migrant, and a qualified Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) volunteer.
Who is it for?
Migrants and other adults wanting to improve their workplace English skills.

3. Let’s Talk – professional speaking for migrants

What is it?
A program to help migrant women become work ready, take up vocational opportunities, and participate in work placement.
Working closely with Gladstone Engineering Alliance (GEA), the program supports migrant women to overcome barriers to employment through a 3-month work readiness course, followed by a matched 3-month voluntary work placement. During the work placement, each participant is eligible for $40 per day reimbursement to help cover costs such as childcare and travel to the workplace.
Who is it for?
Migrant women seeking meaningful employment, who are willing to participate in a 3-month work readiness program and a voluntary and supported 3-month work placement for 2 to 3 days a week.
When does it run?

What is it?
Formal training for disadvantaged job seekers to gain nationally recognised skills through Certificate III courses. A registered training organisation (RTO) delivers the course with support from Integreat Queensland to help you access the program, complete your studies and mandatory placement, and develop skills in finding a job.
Currently, Certificates available to study are:
- Cert III in Individual Support (Commencing in the 1st quarter of 2025)
- Cert II in Health Support Services (Commencing 2nd Oct 2024) more details here
- Traineeship: Cert I in Construction (Commencing in the 1st quarter of 2025)
- Traineeship: Cert I in Workplace Skills (Commencing in the 1st quarter of 2025)
Who is it for?
Disadvantaged job seekers including culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) people, women re-entering the workforce, and young people over 15 years looking for alternatives to mainstream education.
When does it run?
