Cultural traditions are being shared to the benefit of everyone

It’s that time of the year again and at Culture Café, we’re excited to hear about your holiday traditions. Let’s come together and enjoy each other’s company while indulging in our favourite traditional dishes. Don’t be shy, bring your beloved dish and let’s make some new memories!

In previous years, we’ve talked about the movies we watch every year with family and friends, the music we all enjoy as well as the length of time of the celebrations themselves. Did you know in the Philippines, Christmas lights are put up in September?

Regular attendee Joanne M., reflects on attending previous End-of-year Culture Cafe events. “It is especially meaningful and such a beautiful occasion. Sharing our various Christmas traditions makes me realise how diverse yet how similar we all are. Learning about how people live in various parts of the world is fantastic”.

For our end-of-year Culture Café, all are welcome to join us to share their traditional dishes and customs for the holiday season! Wednesday, 6th Dec, from 9.30am at Gladstone City Library.
If you want to contribute, please bring a dish to share for other people to experience.

Looking back on 2023, we heard from community members from Germany, Philippines, Colombia, Vietnam and France! We are absolutely delighted with what we’ve learned from our community members throughout the year.

If you would like to be one of our presenters for 2024, please contact Stel (Kristel) at contactus@integreatqld.org.au for more details.
