Integreat QLD Skilling Queenslanders for Work Programs 2024-2025
Integreat Queensland Inc. is proud to announce that we have received funding from the Queensland Government’s Department of Youth Justice, Employment, Small Business, and Training (DESBT) under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) initiative.
This program will have two intakes: one in August 2024 and the other in February 2025. Each intake will provide 24 individuals with the opportunity to gain valuable skills—16 in business and 6 in construction. The program focuses on individuals seeking to enter the workforce, upskill, or re-skill. Participants will complete a Certificate I qualification in Business or Construction, while gaining hands-on experience in their respective fields. In addition to vocational training, participants will attend workshops on confidence building, communication, job readiness, and safety culture.
This initiative, funded by the Queensland Government, aims to upskill Queenslanders and offer valuable support to not-for-profit organisations in the Gladstone Region.
“The Queensland Government is committed to assisting Queenslanders into work, which grows the Queensland economy and supports community participation. SQW continues to play a critical role in increasing workforce participation and the overall performance of the Queensland economy,” said Lance McCallum MP, Minister for Employment and Small Business, and Minister for Training and Skills Development.
Integreat Queensland, a not-for-profit charity organisation, is dedicated to fostering inclusivity, diversity, and social welfare in the Central Queensland community for over 12 years. We strive to create opportunities for individuals from all walks of life to participate, feel welcomed, acquire new skills, and actively contribute to the growth and vitality of our local community.
Our organisation has a history of successfully running programs to assist the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) community in our region. Our track record speaks for itself, with an average completion rate of 90% across 17 SQW programs.
Integreat Queensland’s General Manager, Charmaine Bennett expressed excitement about welcoming the new trainees. “Under the guidance of Program Manager Kristy Niemand, our team is eager to assist the new trainees in their journey and support them as they advance in their careers,” Charmaine said.
